Christmas Wishes answered for over 1,000 kids

Retired NFL player, Demetrious "DJ" Johnson (pictured hosted a party for over 1,000 deserving children at the new Hyatt Riverfront (formerly the Adam's Mark) for his foundation's 17th Annual Christmas Wish Party which was done in partnership this year with the Gateway Classic Foundation. Children were chosen from area organizations including St. Louis Parks & Rec, Jennings School District, Mark Twain Association, and Wellston. 

VIP artist Lil Frank performed his new song with J-Star. This kid is only 12 years old and is starting his career off well by giving back during the holiday season.

There were plenty of toys to ensure that every child went home with a smile on their face courtesy of the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots toy drive.

Interscope Recording artist Jibbs made the kids and parents alike go wild when he performed Chain Hang Low. Another St. Louis Native knows the importance of giving back. Jibbs took time out and took pics with all the kids and even shared a photo with Miss Gateway Classic 2008. 

Work It Out: Holiday Party Do's & Dont's

The Christmas trees are up and people are starting to wear those funny looking Christmas sweaters at jobs all over St. Louis. When you get ready to attend your company or organizations Holiday Party this season make sure you represent yourself well.

Do attend the holiday party, there is nothing worse that being a no show. Even if you only attend for 30min, people do notice.
Don't shut the party down. You don't always have to be the last person to leave.

ATTIRE
Don't show up wearing your favorite freakum dress unless your party is held inside a venue with a lot of poles and mirrors.
Do check to see what the attire is before you show up looking too casual. Keep it classy.

CHRISTMAS * KWANZA *HANUKAH
Don't go crazy telling people "Merry Christmas" I celebrate it and it gets on my nerves sometimes.
Do be respectful of others personal beliefs

SAFETY FIRST
Do ask to see if cabs are going to be made available. You can always get a ride back to your car in the morning.
Don't get so sloppy drunk that you can't even drive home. Don't dance on the tables, and if you do, don't get caught...LOL

INVITE ONLY
Do bring your spouse to meet the boss, if they are invited...check that first.
Don't assume that you can just bring a guest. If you do bring a "date" make sure it is someone that will represent you well. Don't bring the guy you met last weekend at the club.

PROPER ETIQUETTE
Do remember to always keep one hand free, so that you can shake hands while networking.
Don't over indulge with the food. You can always go visit your favorite late night diner when it's over.

Static Static is stuck on the Bus

I was out at Wal-Mart Wednesday trying to see if they had any black friday sell items left and who do I see on the parking lot in a big yellow school bus? Hot 104.1's Staci Static. She tell us that she is not getting off the bus until it is filled with toys. The folks out in St. Charles really helped get the bus filled with some good toys, I even saw 2 bikes and a guitar on there. Thursday she will be at the O'Fallon, IL Walmart. Make sure you check her out and please take a few new unwrapped toys so this girl can get out of the cold. Friday she will be back in St. Louis at the Wal-Mart on Rd. Hanely. Lets hope fill this bus so she doesn't have to spend another night on that cold bus.

You know when it starts getting cold it's time for the Annual Platinum Group's Christmas Party. 2008 marks the 7th year for this Networking Symposium and it gets better every year. Last year we had the pleasure of going and it was a ball. I did get the chance to do a little networking but you know I also had to get a few plates (yes I had more than one) and do some serious damage on the dance floor.
