GOOD OL DAYS

Nothing like the Good Ol Days to bring a smile to anybody's face. And if you wanna celebrate Cinco De Mayo  without the tacos and funny hats but would prefer some throwback music and Ciroc in stead then LUSH is the place to be. Join those folks from U C Me on Tuesday for just $5 before 10. What's the thing you miss most about the Good Ol Days?

FRIDAY NIGHT FAB

It's Friday and you are either happy you just got paid, happy you still got a job, or just happy that you haven't contracted the swine flu, so that sounds like you need to celebrate. Get out and  enjoy some of the great events St. Louis has to offer and don't be a STL hater whining about "it's never nothing to do in this town" cause we are giving you 4 great ways to spend your Friday night.

The weather is warming up and there is no better place to hang out than the U. City Loop. With ladies free until 11, I'm suggesting that you go grab a bite to eat at Pi and then head west up Delmar to see what DJ Charlie Chan has cooking on the 1's and 2's. It's on the corner just north of Delmar on Eastgate and in case you riding the short bus the address is 609. I wish I had more info to give you but I haven't been to 609 in a month of Sundays (really a year of Sundays) but it seems like Robert Kirk is still holding down a good crowd.

The folks at SoulStylz may think we have forgotten about them since they haven't been featured on the site in a while but we were just giving our readers a well needed rest so they would be refreshed to attend the Beautiful event at Sleek (inside of Lumiere). Since this event series was announced a few weeks ago there have been nothing but positive reports from the all the Beautiful people that support this SoulStylz event. I'm going to throw my new BareMinerals makeup on, spray some oil sheen on the crown and get all Beautiful so I can join the cool kids club.

There is a part of me that every time I see this flyer for LUSH I want to bust out the rap that Mocha does on her commercial...then I remember I can't rap so I just say it quietly to myself while I lay my clothes out on my bed that I plan to wear when I hang out with Mocha Latte & Boogie D. Everybody is FREE until 11 but if you didn't get on that V.I.P. list that they were offering via Facebook then you better get there early cause they start packing it in early.  Oh yeah and our girl  Tamariane will be celebrating her 30th Birthday there tomorrow night so you already know suiteSTL will be in the house helping Ms. Tamarine party like the little ball of sunshine she is.

Nothing makes me want to go out more than a good comedy show and a party. St. Louis House of Comedy is giving you both cause this weekend marks the 1st Anniversary of Dee Lee's comedy club. They've brought some big names and we were there during many of those events and no matter who they bring to town I still enjoy seeing the local comedians on stage doing they thing. I'm sure the locals will be there but I am excited about seeing the hilarious Tony Roberts who will be there through Sunday. Big ups to Dee Lee on his 1st year and we hope that this is just the beginning of many more years to come. I wonder since Steve "not at all funny in the morning" Harvey got moved off of The Beat after replacing Dee Lee do the folks over at 100.3 feel like complete fools for  shutting down the Dee Lee morning show. They better be glad HOT 104.1 put Rickey Smiley on mornings, otherwise I would be ready to protest demanding that they bring that light skinned comic back to radio. OK sorry I didn't mean to go off on a rant, damn this was suppose to be a Happy Anniversary post for them. Oh well get your tickets and support Dee Lee so he will continue giving us laughs down on the landing.

Solange is So St. Louis

Solange Knowles will be in St. Louis on Friday and before she gets here lets just get a few things out of the way. Yes she is the younger sister of Beyonce. Ok now that we've said it I don't want to hear another person mentioning it while she is here. Solange may be all Knowles but she is a star in her own light. Make your way over to Webster University Garden Center and check her out for only ten dollars. People sleep on Solange because of her family but I love the cd especially the 60's vibe of it. A refreshing sound compared to all the junk that is floating around. St. Louis native Teresa Jenee is the opening act. You know there won't be a show like this without a proper afterparty. Teresa Jenee will be hanging out with the Soul Stylz at Sleek and Solange will be a Lush along with Mr. Hi Hater, Maino.

Decisions to Make

Since when did Thursdays in St. Louis become so popular? There is a lot to do tonight so now it's time to make that choice. Let me break it down for you.

With the economy being so jacked up, you never know when you are going to need a job so I stay correct on my networking skills. The Urban Mixer is the perfect place to rub shoulders and exchange business cards with St. Louis VP's and professionals. Plus anything that Vanita Applebaum Entertainment is involved in I'm there to give my support!

I would stop in the Loft to get some of those wings while I'm at Diva Thursdays and see what really goes down in there and to look for everybody that keeps hitting me up on Facebook about this event. I swear they have about 763 people promoting the same event.
Take a little walk over to Locust to show support to the gentlemen who have Thursdays on lock. Freetime, while they host Groove Theory at EXO. While I'm there gotta see what the Chef has cooking cause one wing plate never fills me up.
Then I'm skipping (yes I still skip) over to LUSH to see what those men of SYGU have cooking. OK wait I can't eat again but I will enjoy a drink or two at their FRESH event since this event is FREE all night
Right after I pop a no-doz pill I'm running red lights all the way to U-City to help Kyjuan kick off his Birthday Weekend at Escalade's. I gotta do all of this and still get home in time to lay my clothes out for The Fall Out with (my new Internet Prentend BFF) Vandalyzm which goes down Friday at the Gramophone.

Suite Reservations

I better not hear another ghetto bunny or bum talking about there is nothing to do in St. Louis when every hour we are getting emails on what' s going down around town. Below are a few things you can do just this weekend alone. There is something for everyone so pick one and enjoy your city and show support!

Tiger Watch in Midtown

GO TIGERS...Mizzou or Memphis?

The mascot is not the only thing these 2 colleges have in common. They both are looking for a win in tonight's game so they can make it that Elite 8 and get their school one step closer to the NCAA championship. My heart is screaming "M-I-Z...Z-O-U" but my head is saying "damn Memphis is gone blow Mizzou right back to Columbia." When the University of Missouri hired there first African-American Head Coach (in any sport), Mike Anderson three years ago today, nobody could have guessed that he would be spending his 3rd Anniversary with team in the Sweet 16. Anderson has worked wonders with Missouri Basketball and the he is deserving of this opportunity. Since Memphis is just up the muddy Mississippi, we know that Memphis fans will be out and about tonight as well. Whichever Tiger you are rooting for just make sure you do it in Midtown St. Louis.

Get some Education for your Stomach and watch the game at The U (3108 Olive) and enjoy some of that good food they cook up all night long. I was never a big fan of sandwiches but I swear the folks at The U have changed me. That loaded Cheesesteak is the truth. They will have the game on tonight and they have they have the bucket special going on. $10 for 6 Beers (Bud, Bud light or Select) and $15 for any other random beer. The game starts at 8:30 so make sure you stop in early to get your food. If you want to do a little more than eat you can always go right next door to The Loft who is having a viewing party with HOT 104.1. And across the street LUSH is having a Networking event sponsored by a variety of local professional organizations including the Urban League Young Professionals.

CHINGY Check-In

We told you all that Lush was doing it big the entire month of March with celebrities every weekend and tonight will be no different. St. Louis native Chingy will be celebrating his birthday at Lush, where ladies get in free before 11, wait a minute that flyer says EVERYBODY FREE ALL NIGHT LONG! Did the folks at LUSH get some of that government bailout money or what? I didn't even know you could afford to do anything for FREE with this crazy economy. I guess this is all part of the Slimulus Package.

Chingy plans to party all weekend cause we hear he is also having a party at HOME (inside AmeriStar) Nightclub on Saturday night as well. They didn't get their bailout check just yet so you will be paying after you cross that bridge into St. Charles. Fellas are $20 and ladies are just $10. I might just roll up in HOME too....ok probably not cause I don't like overrated clubs who don't know how to treat everybody the same. If you do go, please report back and let us know if you had a good time or not.

Suite Reservations: BOW WOW at LUSH

So lately I've been spending my Friday Nights at LUSH and I must say, I'm loving it. There are so many different level and hideaway spots in the place that some nights I get lost. Mocha Latte and Slim have been doing so much lately that I'm going to have to ask them to help Obama with his economic plans because I swear Monopoly Promotions and LooseCannon hasn't seen a drop in business. In fact they got the nerve to bring a different celebrity to STL every weekend. I can't do anything but respect and of course support that! Make sure you check out BOW WOW who will be celebrating his 22nd Born Day tonight at Lush. 22? That means he is full and grown and will have all of STL finest groupies in full effect.

LUSH is doing it BIG...again

They don't call it the BEST DAMN FRIDAY NIGHT....PERIOD for nothing. Monolply Promotions does it big every Friday night at LUSH and tonight will be no different. Join Mocha Latte and Boogie D as they host Teairra Mari tonight at LUSH.

Ms Teairra is also looking in St. Louis for someone to appear in her next video. The casting call is at I AM clothing store 5-7pm. So all you video models and wanna be famous chicks make sure you get your hair done and fits right and check out the casting call. While you are there buy a new outfit and meet us at LUSH.

CHINGY AT LUSH??? - you know we don't like to gossip here at suiteSTL so if you read it here you better believe it's the real deal. Just hours after posting Chingy's video yesterday we got word that he will be at LUSH on Friday, March 20th celebrating his Birthday. HOLD UP. That means that LUSH will have had Ron Brownz, Teairra Mari, Bow Wow (oh yeah he will be here next weekend), and Chingy all within 30 days! Most financial institutions are suffering in this economy but Wellz Fargo seems to be doing just fine at Lush!

Busy Weekend in the LOU

If I hear anybody else say that nothing is ever going on in St. Louis I want them to be in my shoes for just 24 hours and you will learn there is always something going on you just need to know the right folks...or make sure you read suiteSTL and you won't miss out on a thing.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mocha Latte

Ludy, Young Dip and Will Franklin

First let me say that I have an issue with Mocha Latte and I hope she reads this because I have a serious beef. You made me miss my hair appointment Mocha!!! I partied so hard Friday Night at LUSH with the Promotions Queen that I slept right through my 7am flat iron moment. Everybody and they Uncle baby momma was in LUSH on Friday Night. Wellz "Slim" Fargo (pictured left with Ron Brownz) was there along with Kansas City Chief Will Franklin who I must say makes me proud! The HOT Squad was there to support and Boogie D was hosting...and from what I here LUSH will be his home on Friday Nights alongside Mocha. For more pics...check out the slide show on the right side of the page.

SATURDAY Afternoon: DJCF Fab 25
Saturday afternoon I had to check out my the Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation for their annual Fab 25 All-American Football Banquet. If you think you are doing it big and you are not giving back to your community then you really aren't doing anything at all. I was in tears at the Banquet as Darrly Burton and Joshua Kerr spoke to the kids. Both Burton and Kerry were recently released from prison after being wrongly accused of murder. There stories and messages to the kids were inspiring to everyone. KMOV sports anchor Steve Savard hosted with his fine self and the Keynote Speaker was former Rams (you know back when they were good) Aeneas Williams (pictured right with Ronnie Wingo who will be graduating form SLUH and headed off to the University of Arkansas).

SUNDAY NIGHT: Traffic Music Awards

Kyuan, Murphy Lee and City Spud

After the hour and half wait on the TMA's to start I enjoyed myself. I got some good laughs andenjoyed a great show. We presented the award for best collaboration and after almost knocking some guy in the head after he tried to argue with us for not giving the awardees enough time to get to the stage I had to check his little self and let them know they weren't even there. I'm being nice by not calling out who it was but if U C Me then I C YOU. Moving On!

JamiB. and CryssRenee
If anybody knows anything about me (Jami B.) then you already know that my favorite rapper right now is Murphy Lee so I was all good once he got on the stage and when he won his award for best Radio Song "My Shoes." Kyuan and all that bright green was all so there with City Spud who has been back for about 9 months now.

Tony J had on a white Tuxedo like it was prom and he had the nerve to change twice. I ain't mad at you Tony - GREAT EVENT. The funniest moments of the night had to be Darius Bradford crazy self on stage, he tore this one guy up calling him " Lil Dude". We would be wrong not to acknowledge the out pour of love for the beloved Lee "Rose Man" Nixon. His daughter (pictured left with the Rose Man's brother) was full of tears as the whole theater stood to their feet and chanted "Rose Man". However, I must say that for all the winners who were no shows but were in town need to be checked for being a little disrespectful in my book. April Simpson wasn't there and I know good and well Fox 2 didn't have her doing anything last night. Let me stop before I mess around and have to call out half of St. Louis. But we are not afraid to call out some people on their fashion. I understand that the country is a recession and some people had to cut back on expenses, but pulling out retro clothes from the past is not going to cut it. We saw some walking aluminum foil, crimped ponytails, pimp suits with kangols, and just some all around foolishness. Look out for our month long Arch Madness where if caught slipping you will be put on blast.

suite reservations: LEAH AT LUSH

You've seen her all around St. Louis as one of the up and coming local models. This local beauty is more than just a pretty face. Leah is the total package and will be celebrating her graduation from Fontbonne this Friday at Lush.

Join us as Monopoly Promotions presents the Best Damn Friday Night with a special Graduation Party edition. Congratulations Leah and we look forward to seeing what you will be doing next.

Thanksgiving Night Photos: Loft & Lush

Check the SYGU Swag in front of Lush.
Joy, Taylor, and Tiffany looking relaxed and ready to party at Lush
(l-r) Spinks, J-Kidd (a.k.a. Mr. Exclusive who has a song out with the same name) and Daron were ready for a party and made sure to get to Lush early.

My boy Marcus was out chilling with his family at The Loft

Only at the Loft will you have 9 people at the picture booth inlcuding HOT 104.1's Boogie D who was hosting that night...if you ask me he was too much fun to call that work.

These 2 ladies were kicking it all night in there sweater dresses

There is Boogie D again this time in a mist of ladies in Yellow

DJ Cuddy had the folks at the Loft on the dance floor all night.
