ROCKing to a NEW BEAT

Looks like the folks at Clear Channel are moving to a new beat, this morning everyone on staff at 100.3 The Beat was let go including all on-air personalities as the parent company made a choice to change formats. Hmmmmm to what format you ask. Oh but of course Halloween Music? Uh yeah ok Clear Channel you may be fooling your listeners with this one but not us. Don't be fooled by the Halloween logo and next month when they start ROCKing Christmas music because it is all temporary folks until they go ROCK all the time which we are predicating will be January 1st.

Alright STL its time for you to sound off...tell us how you really feel or do you even care.  Also we wish the best to the entire staff who was let go and if you have KIND words for them post them and show support STL.

The Beat will be missed. Thanks for providing us with memories and great music . If anyone plays "Hey Nicki " it will not be the same.

I'm utterly disgusted by the spontaneous switch of formats. What ever happened to listener satisfaction and making sure that the station maintains a strong rapport with the community. The chief in charge of that decision may need to retake "Community Relations 101". Rule #1: Don't shut down a station without explaining why. After all, the listeners are a major factor, especially if you want us to continue to support Clear Channel. I wish the talent of the station the best.

I highly doubt that the format is going to be Rock. The rumor in the industry is that the format will be what Clear Channel is calling "Gen X Radio." Basically, it is a 90s Pop-based format. It is currently running on their station in Louisville, WLGX.

i'm way disappointed. i have listened to 100.3 exclusively for the past year since moving back to st. louis.

i find it disgusting that they have no respect for their listeners and local community.

i actually grew pretty fond of the radio personalities. i wish them all well. i hope clear channel gets their "just desserts" because this was pretty foul.

thanks for the info!!!

definitely the right women and people to report the happenings and atmosphere 'round STL, i'm certain.

it takes personality - and you two have a goldmine.

aint no way @ Being born and raised here I would have to say that St. Louis is one of the most racist cities.

Ever been to The Dirty South? LOL.
