suite STyLe: Him and Her

Taraji Henson and Jamie Foxx know how to step out in style this holiday season. Obviously they are on the other side of the country from each other. Taraji was seen out in LA looking absolutely fantastic in this rust orange dress. Mr. Foxx was in the NYC keeping himself warm in Vogue fashion. I hear Jamie is having his album release/birthday party in Atlanta this weekend. Nice to see another sexy and intelligent Sagittarius!

FRIDAY FOOLISHNESS

This Beyonce fan is not too happy with her right now. Tell me, how do you feel about Beyonce?

Happy Friday...and pics from Thursday

Charlie Chan was doing his thang all night over at the Delmar Lounge last night. I only have one complaint with him. He was doing so good I didn't want to go home. It was after 2am when I left and I went home with more energy than I came out with. He almost made me jump out of my knee high boots when he played Murphy Lee's remix of Bust it Wide Open. Brandon from Murphy's Lee's camp was also in the building and when folks found out I think I saw a few cd's being flung his way.

Some of everybody was in the Delmar Lounge last night.

Luqman was on the mic keeping the crowd going and in check. Since it was ladies night and Charlie Chan was playing all the east coast old school we thought asking for some Lil Kim would be o.k. but Luqman quickly put us in check by telling us to sit back and wait because that's not how they do things at the Delmar Lounge and reminded everybody that we were not at Lush, EXO, the Loft or any other club. The North St. Louis in me wanted to say a few words and then head over to EXO for the Freetime event but I stayed since it was my girl's birthday. Plus I know he didn't mean any harm I just think he was trying to remind us newcomers that they had a certain way of doing things. Anyway despite his little speech I was feeling him on the mic and will be back soon.

THE BIRTHDAY GIRL....CRYSSRENEE. She is the reason why I was out so late on a Thursday night.

Tonia and Ebony (cousins, so they say) took time out from drinking for a quick shot!

If anybody wonders again why our slogan is "where URBAN and CHIC collide and harmonize" this picture should explain everything. We've been friends for over 14 years and have never had an argument or falling out and I think it's because we come from 2 different worlds and we understand each other and respect the others place in life.

There isn't much to say about this event other than....DON'T MISS IT. When the brothers behind Freetime put there name behind an event, it is sure to be the place to be.

1/2 of suiteSTL is celbrating a birthday today. Cryssrenee has made it another year...how I don't know considering we have done some crazy things in our time. If you see Cryssrenee out and about today make sure you wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. She will be celbrating with her family today but you can catch us out tomorrow at Delmar Loungue for a drink or two or three or four!

I couldn't post this about my friend of 14 years without telling how old she is. Let's just say that she can officialy begin the countdown to 30...just 365 days to go!

Work It Out: Holiday Party Do's & Dont's

The Christmas trees are up and people are starting to wear those funny looking Christmas sweaters at jobs all over St. Louis. When you get ready to attend your company or organizations Holiday Party this season make sure you represent yourself well.

R.S.V.P.
Do attend the holiday party, there is nothing worse that being a no show. Even if you only attend for 30min, people do notice.
Don't shut the party down. You don't always have to be the last person to leave.

ATTIRE
Don't show up wearing your favorite freakum dress unless your party is held inside a venue with a lot of poles and mirrors.
Do check to see what the attire is before you show up looking too casual. Keep it classy.

CHRISTMAS * KWANZA *HANUKAH
Don't go crazy telling people "Merry Christmas" I celebrate it and it gets on my nerves sometimes.
Do be respectful of others personal beliefs

SAFETY FIRST
Do ask to see if cabs are going to be made available. You can always get a ride back to your car in the morning.
Don't get so sloppy drunk that you can't even drive home. Don't dance on the tables, and if you do, don't get caught...LOL

INVITE ONLY
Do bring your spouse to meet the boss, if they are invited...check that first.
Don't assume that you can just bring a guest. If you do bring a "date" make sure it is someone that will represent you well. Don't bring the guy you met last weekend at the club.

PROPER ETIQUETTE
Do remember to always keep one hand free, so that you can shake hands while networking.
Don't over indulge with the food. You can always go visit your favorite late night diner when it's over.

While  D.C. will be packed like the polling places were on Nov. 4 when we elected the 1st Black President, there is no need to travel when St. Louis will host it's own Inaugural Ball on Jan 20th to celebrate this historic election of Barack Obama.
No need to make a flight, just gas up the car and get ready to drive to City Hall for the biggest event of 2009. The St. Louis African-American Caucus Foundation and the Young Democrats of St. Louis have joined forces to bring you St. Louis' 2009 Inaugural Ball. You all know how you like to dress up so get the ball gowns and tuxedos ready to for this Black Tie attire event put on by D.I.V.A. event planning. Tickets are only $50 and of course they have V.I.P. for $125. For more information make sure to visit their website. We  will be there and ready to see who will have suite STyLe.
